Whats the Holdup!?

First a little background: Our friends the Wagners began their process and came home with their beautiful little girl in about 9 months back in 2005. We are currently on month 7-going into month 8 of our journey and we are no where near our pumpkin!
The Hague convention which has put more pressure on countries involved in international adoption to follow a set of standards, rules, and regulations in order to make sure that things like baby trafficking or selling are not occurring. And to make sure that the process is fair and safe to all involved. This is a wonderful thing, however when you change a process in the course of a few short months, it can lead to a huge mess. Which we are now caught in!

We filled out our I800A-petition to adopt an orphan and submitted it in June to the USCIS for approval (it was the USCIS who give us our fingerprinting appts.). We finally got our fingerprinting done and were now waiting on our final approval paper the I797. After over 100 days of waiting Tim called today to find out why it is taking so long. We did thank goodness get some answers and got some things rolling. One praise was that our case was assigned a case worker! Another one is that our homestudy-which was finished in May needs some wording/language changes as they are now extremely picky on how things are worded. So....
Called our SW today and sent her the changes and she got right on the changes and sent them out in the mail today! She is great btw. It is just so frustrating that the government made these changes and let some of us get caught in the middle of the mess it made. Change is ok, but how about doing it a little at a time. And when they make changes-inform the agencies what the changes are and how to do things the new way. Our poor SW had no idea when she wrote our HS (nor did anyone at BCS)what the new requirements were going to be on the homestudy!? On one of my forums there are at least 7-10 families in our same boat.

However, I do know that (Melissa you words are coming back to me) that God must have needed another roadblock as our child is not ready for us to find him/her. I do think I need to prep Jordan esp on the chances of us having a boy. There are many boys right now with minor sn's and many families who want girls. Please be praying for all those kids to find the right homes.
And when I think of all those kiddos in orphanages in China right now, it puts my little wait into a better perspective. How badly they must want a family and a home!

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the blessing you have given to our family. We know that you are in charge and your hand is ever guiding in this process for us. Please Lord take our worries and burdens and fill us with hope of our child waiting for us. And Lord please bless all the children who are needing a home and a family-open the hearts of families to those children. In your faithful name, Amen
